Resource packs
Moving assets between packs
Anything you've made can go to another pack, one asset or a whole selection, without generating it a second time.
- One asset: the Move to pack button on its page, or right-click it in the pack grid.
- Several: tick them in the grid (the checkbox appears on hover, top-left of each card) and use Move to pack in the bar that comes up. Select all takes everything on the tab you're looking at.
Either way you pick an existing pack or name a new one, which is created on the spot. Copy leaves the originals where they are; Move doesn't.
A few things are rebuilt rather than carried over, because they're allocated per pack and can't be in two at once:
| What | What happens |
|---|---|
| A model's carrier | Reassigned in the new pack. Same kind of carrier where one's free, otherwise the item carrier |
| A GUI overlay's characters | New ones. The title string that opens it changes; re-copy it from the GUI's page |
| An icon's character | Kept, unless another icon in the target pack already uses it |
| The textures a model renders with | Copied along with it, or the model would arrive as a checkerboard |
Reskins can't sit side by side
A block or item reskin is named after the vanilla thing it replaces, so a pack can only hold one of each. If the target already has that block reskinned, yours is left behind and you're told so. Tick Overwrite in the sheet if you meant to replace it.
